WEBSITE IN PROGRESSHi, From Northwest Colorado SpringsLiving in the foothills of the Colorado Rockies, I have a game trail leading into my front yard. Since deer routinely check my flower gardens for anything that suits their appetites, the survivors are mainly daisies and marigolds. One year, the deer ate my four new rose bushes down to barren shoots. My ten-year-old lilac bushes are about a foot high. A low plastic netting over my new ice plants thwarted the deer, but I didn't anticipate the rabbits going under the barrier and eating the ice plant to the ground. But do I get the opportunity to photograph deer? And young bunnies, hummingbirds, magpies, scrub jays, four eagles, squirrels, and the occasional bear that climbs up to my second-floor deck. I'm still missing pictures of the foxes, coyotes, hawks, and raccoons I've seen over the years. After procrastinating about setting up this site, an event on the morning of 14 June 2005--along with some amicable pestering by friends who wanted prints--caused me to make the move. That morning at about 7 a.m., a doe delivered two fawns in a sandbox at the bottom of my yard. Minutes later, I spotted her tending to her little dark lumps with legs, ears, and heads sticking out at odd angles. See the section on Newborn Fawns for more details and information on sets of 4 by 6 prints I'm offering. I'm starting with the newborn photos, but I will add more from my collections, which include incredible pics of hummingbirds, a couple of trophy bucks, close-ups of antlers in progress with velvet on the stubs, and this year's young bunnies that are eating my yard two or three blades of grass at a time.
